DANCE PROGRAM UPDATE!
Our dance program will be moving from monthly enrollment to a five month session enrollment. The dance season is from September through June and there will be two sessions throughout that time. September to January and February to June. Signing up for a session means your child is committing to five months of attendance for classes.
We have decided to switch to sessions for all dance classes because of the group learning environment. It will benefit all of the dancers learning environments and keep classes more consistent. We feel it will be easier for dancers to progress with the same group of kids that are also at their same skill level. By building self confidence with dance skills and peer relationships with others in their 5 month session class, your child will become the performer they wish to be. With dance we also need to have a higher level of commitment, so that your child can get the most out of every class they attend. Our curriculum is setup so that within five months your child will learn a group of skills that will make them better, all around dancers and ready for the next level challenge.
Tuition is based on a 40 week dance season which is broken up into two sessions. Tuition will automatically be taken out on the 1st of the month for that month. With our monthly billing, please know you are still required to commit to the full five month session. However, if you choose to pay for the full session at the beginning of that session, you may. Please keep in mind there are no credits or refunds. Sessions are continuous enrollment, which means you do not have to re-sign up for each session, you will automatically be enrolled for the next session. If you wish to withdrawal for the next session, a withdrawal form must be filled out by the 20th of the last month of your session in order to stop billing.

Please respect our age groups. If your child has met the skill requirements to move to the next level, but you are unable to register them in a class because of their age please call the office so we can place your child in the correct class. Thank You.
Tuition shown below is monthly based on a 5 month session for one time a week. We strongly recommend two classes a week for maximum skill progression. Discounts available for multiple classes is 20%. Fees below do not include the annual registration fee.

This class is for you the parent/caretaker and your little dancer. Come to dance, move and bond with your toddler in this fun forty-five minute dance class. You will assist your dancer as they learn basic ballet skills and tap movements. They will learn how to be in a structured class while having fun and gaining coordination through dance. Required Attire: Comfortable clothes your child can move in and ballet shoes. Leotard, tights, skirts or tutus are allowed.
Intro to dance and Teen Combo are classes for students who have no dance experience. These class will teach the basics of ballet, tap and jazz. Required Attire: leotard (any color), tights, skirts are welcomed, pink (full sole) ballet shoes, black tap shoes.
This combo class is designed to introduce Ballet and Tap to the beginner dancer. Students spend half the class in ballet shoes and the other half in tap shoes. Students learn pre-ballet skills, coordination, body positions, ballet terminology and the beginning basics of tap. Required Attire: leotard (any color), tights, skirts are welcomed, pink (full sole) ballet shoes, black tap shoes
This class continues to build skills and advance students in Ballet and Tap. It also introduces students to the basics of Jazz. Focusing on isolations, stretching, simple jazz dance steps, turns and leaps. Required Attire: leotard (any color), tights, skirts are welcomed, pink (full sole) ballet shoes, black tap shoes
Level 2 or Intro to Dance is a pre-requisite for Level 3. Level 3 continues to build skills and advance students in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. In Level 3 dancers will progress in ballet and jazz skills and spend more time at the ballet barre focusing on proper technique. In tap dancers continue to learn skills and work on the speed of footwork. Dancers are also asked to start remembering terminology and identifying the differences in steps. Required Attire: leotard (any color), tights, skirts are welcomed, pink (full-sole or split-sole) ballet shoes, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes
In this class dancers will continue to enhance their skills in ballet, tap, and jazz. As Level 4 is the last beginner level, students will learn harder skills in all styles while perfecting their technique and reviewing all beginner skills. Required Attire: leotard (any color), tights, skirts are welcomed, pink (split-sole) ballet shoes, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes
Level 5 is the first Intermediate level, dancers will continue to progress through ballet, tap and jazz. Required Attire: leotard (any color), tights, skirts are welcomed, pink (split sole) ballet shoes, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes
Ballet is a highly formalized style of dance that focuses on body alignment, abdominal control, proper placement, strengthening, and flexibility. All classes start at the ballet barre then move to the center to do skills in combinations without the barre. Students then work on moving across the floor with turns and leaps. Students will learn discipline, structure of the class and ballet terminology. Ballet is the foundation of all dance and is strongly encouraged. For Junior and Intermediate/Advanced levels dancer must complete Beginner level or have an evaluation. Required Attire: leotard (any color), pink tights, pink (split sole) ballet shoes, ballet skirts are allowed to be worn over leotards
Modern emphasizes strong fundamentals of proper alignment to achieve increased movement efficiency, strength, and flexibility. The class will start with a center floor warm up phrase, then work on technique and skill across and center floor, class will end with a center floor combination. Students will be taught different technique styles like Graham, Humphrey, and Dunham while working with aspects of modern, jazz, and ballet. Students will explore dancing to different rhythms, tempos, and styles of music. Required Attire: leotard, footless tights or shorts/leggings, bare feet or sole shield footwear
Hip Hop is an energetic dance style that is usually performed to hip hop music that evolved from hip hop culture. Students learn the elements of hip hop dance, including popping, locking and breaking. Required Attire: Comfortable clothing that won't restrict movement (no jeans), jazz shoes or clean gym shoes
These classes are designed for adults who want to continue dancing or learn the basics of dance. We offer adult classes in modern, ballet and tap combo and a tap and jazz combo. These styles are great for adults as they get your body moving while learning and having fun. The adult classes are drop-in classes. This means you can drop into any of our scheduled classes when it works best for you and your schedule. Below in the calendar, click on the class to register. Once you have registered with us once, then you just login or give us a call to enroll in future classes. You must enroll into each class everytime you would like to attend. Payment will be taken once you arrive at the front desk and you will revieve a stamp. Drop in classes are $10 per class or you can purchase a 5 Class Punch Card for $40.
Required Attire: Comfortable clothes that won’t restrict movement and appropriate shoes. Please contact the front desk to see what classes are available.
- CONTINUOUS SESSION ENROLLMENT: Payments are made monthly and you don't have to worry about your spot being taken. You are guaranteed your spot all year long.*

- In months where holidays, gym closings, snow days, etc. affect the schedule of classes, no tuition is reduced. If you should receive five classes during the month instead of four it will be considered a makeup for classes missed while we are closed for holidays, gym closings, snow days, etc.
We offer continuous enrollment so you can join a class at anytime as long as there are open spots in the class. We will pro rate the tuition accordingly.
- Tuition is not prorated for absences. Please see the class Make-Up Policies.
- Payments for classes are due at the time of Registration. This enables us to keep a more accurate count of how many students are enrolled for each class without overbooking classes

Tuition is paid monthly: Tuition is due on the 1st of each month for that month. With our monthly tuition, please know you are still required to commit to the full five month session. Our session dates are below.

Options for making payments before the 1st of each month:
If payment is made prior to the 1st of the month by one of the options listed below then no fees will be charged to your credit/ debit card on file.
- Payments may be made in person with cash.
- Payments may be made with a personal check. Please make your check payable to Power in Motion and please note the student's name, class, day and the time on the memo portion of your check. A $25 fee will be assessed on all returned checks.
- Payments may be made with VISA, MasterCard, or Discover.
- You may mail payments to: Power in Motion Gymnastics, Dance, & Cheer, 3889 M-139, St. Joseph, MI 49085
- Remember, any remaining balances on the 25th of the month will be charged to your credit/ debit card on file. This is done automatically so you will not have to worry about losing your child's /(ren's) spot in class.
If there are changes to your credit/debit card the new information must be received by the 20th of the month. If your payment doesn't go through for any reason you will be charged a $10.00 decline fee. If delinquent tuition is not paid before the first of the month, your child(ren) will be tagged inactive by the computer, will be un-enrolled, and children on the waiting list will be called. Once we have received a bad check, all future tuition must be paid with cash or credit/debit card.
If you wish to withdraw for the next session a withdrawal form must be filled out by the 20th of the last month of your session in order to stop billing. A Withdrawal Form can be printed off (PDF below) or picked up at the front desk. It MUST BE received by the 20th of the month prior to withdrawal. WE DO NOT ACCEPT WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE. WE MUST RECEIVE A PHYSICAL OR EMAILED COPY OF THE Withdrawal Form (pdf below) at the front desk.

ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE:
This fee is $30 for the first child, $20 for second child or a $50 maximum per family. Registration is due at the time of initial enrollment and renewed annually each year thereafter. This fee covers administrative cost as well as registering and maintaining family records. This registration fee applies to ALL programs at Power in Motion. We offer a generous discount for multiple classes for one child and multiple children from one family. There is a 10% Discount for each additional member of the immediate family calculated on the lower priced class(es) for all programs at Power in Motion! This does not include private lessons.
You MUST contact the office before your child's scheduled class to inform them of your child not attending to receive a make-up class.
- Make-ups are allowed when the requested class size permits.
- You must pre-register for make-up classes through the office.
- Make-up classes do not transfer to future months.
- We will not offer make-up classes for missed make-up classes.
- No credits or refunds will be given for classes not made up.

All classes must have at least 3 children.
We do not offer credit and/or refunds for cancelled classes due to holiday, vacation, illness, weather or any other reason. Power In Motion does not issue refunds. All sales are final for any product and/or service purchased and/or provided by Power In Motion.
Schedule subject to change based on availability. Please call ahead to assure that your class is available. The minimum class size is 3 children and we reserve the right to cancel any class that does not meet the minimum number of children. You are more than welcome to join a class at anytime as long as there are available spots in the class. We will prorate the tuition accordingly.
